LAS VEGAS, January 24th 2024 - Zuvi announces that it has successfully closed its latest round of funding, led by the L'Oréal Groupe through its corporate venture fund, BOLD (Business Opportunities for L’Oréal Development). Zuvi's longstanding partner, Kleiner Perkins (KPCB), a leading venture capital firm in the US, has also renewed its support of Zuvi through this Series funding. Both these investments underline Zuvi's intention to become an innovation powerhouse in the beauty tech segment.
Mingyu Wang, Founder and CEO of Zuvi, "Having been recognized and supported by L'Oréal, as the number one beauty company with rich heritage, fills us with great honor. What's truly remarkable is the discovery of shared values – an unwavering commitment to excellence in product creation, a rigorous scientific approach to efficacy testing, and, above all, an endeavor of making the world a better place. It's these shared aspirations that have brought Zuvi and L'Oréal together."
In parallel, Zuvi announces AirLight Pro, a next-generation hair drying tool for beauty professionals and consumers alike, co-developed with L’Oréal and unveiled at CES Las Vegas. AirLight Pro outperforms conventional hair dryers while delivering an enhanced user experience and greater sustainability. Its breakthrough industrial design using infrared light technology and wind delivers up to 33% more hydrated hair¹, up to 59% visually smoother hair² and faster drying times, while consuming up to 31% less energy³. AirLight Pro was the result of a collaboration between Zuvi and a team of more than 100 engineers, designers, hairdressers and scientists from L’Oréal’s Research & Innovation division.
“For over a decade, L’Oréal Research and Innovation has been creating a new Beauty Science powered by Technology: Augmented Beauty. Technology that truly answers age-old consumer needs with unparalleled results,” said Barbara Lavernos, Deputy CEO L’Oréal Groupe & Chief Research, Innovation and Technology Officer. “AirLight Pro, with over 150 patents filed, perfectly embodies this breakthrough in beauty by, for the first time, bringing a solution for drying while caring for the hair as well as the planet.”
Wang continues: "It's been over a century since humanity invented hair dryers in the 1890s. Zuvi's engineers and scientists have embodied the principle we hold firmly – 'Rethink everything', even in a century-old product category, we believe we can achieve the very best."
Looking forward, Zuvi remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering exceptional products.
